The short-distance taxi ride in Berlin: 2km taxi ride for 6,-€

However, the short-distance route only applies if a moving taxi is flagged down from trafficnot when boarding at a stop or ordering a taxi by phone or using a taxi app. When you get in, tell the taxi driver that you want the short-distance fare.

If the journey is longer than 2 km, the taximeter automatically switches to the normal fare.

Payment by credit card or debit card as well as the carriage of luggage in the trunk, strollers, wheelchairs, dogs and small animals are free of charge.

By the way, every Berlin taxi driver must accept cashless payments with three major debit or credit cards. The driver may request the passenger's identification documents if necessary.

All Berlin taxis are required to have a functioning payment card device on board. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to operate a tour.

As part of public transport, taxis are subject to mandatory fares.
The taxi fare is set by the state of Berlin.
